2nd Annual Earth Day Celebration
Sponsored by High Noon Solar
The time is upon us again to ramp up and get ready for the Earth Day celebration! High Noon
Solar has volunteered to organize and help host the 2nd Annual Earth Day Event in Grand Junction because we understand the need for our community to stay involved with one another, as well as to get reliable information about ecologically friendly choices. Plus, it was great fun being involved with so many like-minded individuals last year! Thank you to all of those who participated in the event last year to make it such a success.
Earth Day 2009 is shaping up to be even larger than last year. For one, we will NOT be competing with the Arbor Day Festival at Lincoln Park. The Arbor Day Festival will be held the weekend after Earth Day this year. Earth Day 2009 will be held April 18th, Saturday, from 11am- 5pm at the Mesa County Fairgrounds.
We have all the entertainment we can fit into the schedule already-- entertainment this year includes Flat Top Reed, the 17th Street Band, Sandy Lind, Khubsurat Ruh Middle Eastern Dance Troupe, and a couple more that are still wiggling into time spots. Many thanks to our wonderful performers!
There is still plenty of room for those of you interested in booth space. Booth space is $20, applications and payment must be turned in to Heidi at High Noon Solar by April 6th. The sooner you get your application in the better as time is being donated to organize this and is easier to parcel out when it’s not at the last minute. Nonprofit groups are free this year again. Filled out applications for nonprofits can be sent via e-mail to highnoonsolar@yahoo.com but other groups must accompany the application with payment. Click on the link below to open and print the application.
Set up will begin at 9:30am and booths must be set up by 11am please. There are some spots available with electricity but not lots so please ask for it only if you really need it. Last year was pretty windy so be prepared. There is a lot of parking available and High Noon Solar is providing chairs and a table again, though you will most likely want to bring an Easy Up.
High Noon Solar will be printing posters again this year and posting them around town. Last year we hung about 250 posters and sent out postcards as well and had 600 plus people attend the event. We hope you or your group will join us to make this year even larger! Please keep up the good work and we look forward to another amazing Earth Day Celebration!
